‘You Be My Heart’ Album to Raise Funds for 829 Valencia

You Be My Heart, 829 Valencia

A handful of indie musicians have joined forces to release You Be My Heart. The album features one track performed by each artist and benefits 829 Valencia, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting school-age students in creative writing. The organization was founded in 2002 and offers free programs to students, teachers and schools in California‘s Bay Area.

All songs on You Be My Heart were written by Devon Reed, an independent songwriter and producer. Participating musicians were asked to put their own twist on the music. Reed began volunteering for 829 Valencia in 2011, and in 2012 became the organization’s volunteer coordinator for its Sunday tutoring program.

The album features Fruitbats, Maps & Atlases, Key Losers, and 13 other musicians, and is available for purchase Dec. 9.
