Turn Up the Volume Event Hosted at Crescent Ballroom for World Refugee Day
On Saturday, June 20, The International Rescue Committee in Phoenix will host its first annual benefit event in honor of World Refugee Day. Every year since 2001, June has been the month in which various groups and individuals put together events to bring awareness to the millions of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) around the globe. Many of these refugees have been forced to leave their homes because of persecution, conflict and war.
The Turn up the Volume event at Crescent Ballroom will feature live music and a signature cocktail made with fruits that were grown by refugee farmers. Doors open at 8 P.M. and the event starts at 8:30 P.M.. The early-bird admission has ended, but $25 general admission tickets are still available. Donations, starting at $5, are also accepted. All of the proceeds will benefit the IRC in Phoenix as it works to help refugees “journey from harm to home.” For more information about the committee’s efforts, visit here.
