Family Weekend at Musical Instrument Museum
Start the new year off with a bang (of a drum) at the Musical Instrument Museum on Jan. 3–4 during Family Weekend. The festivities run from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. and are included with the price of museum admission.
Guests can attend workshops that include making a one-note squawker horn or crafting a sparkly party mask– perfect for patrons of all ages. There will also be hands-on instrument spotlights, an appearance by Howler, the Arizona Coyotes mascot, and a photo booth to snap a New Year‘s picture with the whole family.
At noon, ASU‘s Dixie Devils Jazz Band will perform and children are encouraged to march with the band in a New Year’s parade. Saturday features a performance by the Desert Ridge Music Academy and Sunday highlights music from students at Arizona School for the Arts.
For an additional $7, guests can visit the Beyond the Beat: Drums of the World exhibit as well.
