Last night Nothing played a very loud and solid set at Pub Rock Live in Scottsdale. The show also included sets by Whirr and local act Daisy Face. Nothing is touring this summer to promote its recent release, Guilty of Everything, an ambient yet grungy album.

Daisy Face kicked off the show. For starters, this band is full of talented musicians. Its songs were very well put together and had an indie rock feel. Find out for yourself by checking out the band’s next show and listening to its EP on Bandcamp.

Whirr was here last July and played at The Underground in Mesa. I caught the group last summer and it played just as loud this time around. Anyone who sees Whirr for a second time has earplugs in hand, ready for what’s to come. The band plays that loud. Throughout the set, the crowd was feeling the music and the band was just as energetic.

The headliners did not disappoint. Last summer, Nothing was on tour with Whirr but the group didn’t make it out to Arizona and it was worth the wait to finally hear the new album live. Nothing started its set with “Devil Town” and it took off from there. The band played fast-paced songs that kept the crowd going.

Whirr and Nothing are one in the same when it comes to their attention-grabbing live sets. Both groups are worth watching next time they return to Arizona.
