Trunk Space to Host Festival on July 21

How’s that saying go? “Good things come to those who wait in the perpetual hot zone that is Phoenix.” Or what about, “where there’s a will, there’s a way for Trunk Space to host an eight-act festival on a Thursday night.”

Yes, that’s it. The beloved do-it-yourself art space will host a do-it-together festival, a la the FMLY, this Thursday, July 21.

The event, dubbed an “accidental touring musician festival,” will feature five out-of-state musicians from the FMLY collective and three Arizona acts.

The FMLY is a group of “day laborers, daydreamers, makers, prosumers, visual/auditory/spatial artists, activists/hacktivists, theorists, writers, students, cyclists, environmentally conscious foodies, and like minded social do-gooders from all over the world.”

Currently, seven of the FMLY acts are on tour, from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. Two of the bands, Little Spoon and Vacation Dad, will play another Arizona set at a to-be-announced venue in Tempe on July 20. Find all of the upcoming tour dates here.
