Just yesterday, Arizona celebrated its 104th birthday (date of statehood). While the state and its capital city, Phoenix, doesn’t have a history as rich as other parts of the country — there are many dedicated to preserving what we do have, including historical buildings.
Wurth House on Roosevelt Row may be demolished, if locals don’t act soon to preserve it. “Of the houses on that side of Roosevelt, this may be the only surviving piece of history,” reads the Wurth House website. “Stepping up to save this beautiful home with beautiful bones was the right thing to do and I need your help to ensure its survival.”
If you’d like to donate, do so here. There are also upcoming concerts and art events taking place this month and next to benefit the fundraiser. The goal is to raise $79,000. Contributors have already given more than $32,325.
