Related Records Accepting Entries for Unlimited Semiosis Compilation
Through Nov. 17, Related Records is accepting music submissions for its Unlimited Semiosis compilation. The concept is inspired by numerous things, including Jean Molino’s belief that music is the result of semiosis and Snapped, a 2008 release by Splinter Cake.
Musicians are encouraged to take an instrumental track that was never made to include lyrics, and then write and record lyrics to go with it. Songs can be taken from any period or genre. “You can add to the instrumental if you want, but stealing the audio from another instrumental recording is the key ingredient to this project,” reads the Facebook event page.
The call for submissions is open to anyone, anywhere. Finished tracks must be sent in .wav format to majestic.ryan [@] gmail [dot] com by Nov. 17. For updates on the project, RSVP on Facebook and be sure to pass along details to artists who may be interested.
