Music-Themed Events at FilmBar in September

FilmBar Phoenix eventsFilmBar and Zia Records have been partnered up for some time now, bringing music-themed events and films to the independent movie theatre in downtown Phoenix. This month, the two will host the September Music Film Series featuring David Bowie is, Purple Rain Prince and Duran Duran: Unstaged. Those who attend the David Bowie screening will receive a complimentary Bowie makeover, as well as glamour shots and drink specials. The Prince event is free and will include a photo booth from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. Although the Duran Duran “Unstaged” screening has sold out for Wednesday, Sept. 10, there are two more chances to catch the event on Sept. 13 and Sept. 14.

According to the FilmBar website: “This September we celebrate music on screen all month long! Food Trucks at select screenings are coordinated by Best in Show Management & Phoenix Street Food Coalition. Presented with support from Halo Piercing.” For film showtimes, see FilmBar’s calendar here.

In addition to the music screenings, Bogan Via will be premiering its music video for “Gatsby” at the venue on Wednesday, Sept. 24. “A story of heartbreak and revenge, ‘Gatsby’ follows Maddie Miller on a blood-soaked journey through Istanbul to pay Bret Bender back for the damage he caused her in Bogan Via’s previous music video ‘Kanye,'” reads the event page. At the event, director Freddie Paull and others from Electric Legend Pictures will give fans a behind-the-scenes peek at how the video was captured in Istanbul, Los Angeles and Arizona.
