Matthew and the Arrogant Sea is a four-piece band out of Denton, Texas that will embark on a two-week tour of the West Coast beginning on April 2 and stopping at Phoenix‘s modest Trunk Space on April 3. This may sound standard for an indie band trying to make it in the industry, and it is. However, MATAS is striving to do a little bit more. As if touring isn’t stressful and demanding enough, the indie pop group has decided to simultaneously record a documentary about its “bizarre 13-year career,” to be released the summer of 2014.

The band has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for this project. “We need just a little extra help along the way. Anything you can offer to help would be amazing! As yet we are still a humble band who needs a little extra help here and there.”

There are a few ways you can help make this endeavor successful:

  • Donate on GoFundMe.
  • Attend one of the upcoming shows in New Mexico, Arizona, California or Colorado (more info). And while you’re at it, bring a friend or two. The Trunk Space show on April 3 is $8 and will feature support from Green Line Operator and Former Friends of Young Americans.
  • Spread the word. If you are pinching pennies to make ends meet or your schedule is booked for the day of the show, remember that sharing is caring.
