Local Acts to Perform ‘Song Reader’ by Beck

A Live Performance of Song Reader by Beck, Beck Hansen, Song Reader, Beck, Crescent Ballroom, Beck's Song Reader, Rosie's House Technology is not done changing the way we receive, listen to and create music.

In December 2012, Beck released Song Reader, his latest album packaged as a book of sheet music. The seasoned musician has yet to debut his professionals recordings of the 20 songs in the book, but he has encouraged musicians around the world to get involved by recording their versions of the music and sharing them on SongReader.net, YouTube and other websites.

On Thursday, April 4, local acts Black Carl, Adele Stein with Wooden Indian, Emby Alexander with the Phoenix Chamber Brass, Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World), Mr. Mudd & Mr. Gold, Spirit Cave, and Tobie Milford will perform songs from Beck Hansen‘s Song Reader live. Because there are no official recordings to reference, the performances aren’t quite covers and will be based solely on the interpretations of the musicians. Proceeds from the event, which is brought to you by Psyko Steve Presents and Crescent Ballroom, will be donated to Rosie’s House: A Music Academy for Children. The organization is dedicated to strengthening the society and building “the heart, mind, character, home, community and future of their students through the power of music education.”
