With support from local businesses and do-it-yourself projects, the Phoenix art scene is beginning to show its true colors. Debates about rivalries between city scenes can be dull. The future seems brightest when locals support locals, which is exactly what the Tempe-based band Future Loves Past plans to do with their new project “…Presents.” When The Specinterviewed the band in December 2011, there was no discussion about the project, but just recently, FLP shared a video teaser for “…Presents,” a new variety show scheduled to debut next month.
Find out what FLP’s Tristan DeDe had to say about the project and watch the show trailer below…
“The first episode of ‘…Presents’ is going to be released Tuesday, Sept. 4. It is a variety show that is going to be a collaborative series of music, film, animation and more. The intended goal is to cross-pollinate all of the different talents in this town, and other towns occasionally.
The show is going to be comprised of, but not limited to: skits, music videos, live performance, spoken word, animated segments, and art film. So far, collaborators include all the members of Future Loves Past (Tristan DeDe, Sean Wintrow, Eric Palmer, Mike Anderson, Sarah Hibner and Enrique Naranjo) as well as Elissa Eve, Marc Norman, Page the Villiage Idiot, Doctor Bones, Mitchell Hillman (JAVA Magazine, Sounds Around Town), Ken Danson the dancing cat, and The Kennedy Brothers (creators of animated series ‘Out There! Detectives of the Unknown‘)…the Internet-based episodes will be available on the Future Loves PastYouTube.”
