Exchange Unwanted Gift Cards at Stinkweeds in Phoenix

A Christmas Story bunny suit, stinkweeds, gift card exchange

Christmas and the holidays are a time for giving and receiving. And while it’s the thought that counts, sometimes you can’t think of what to do with the generic presents you receive from distant relatives or acquaintances.

So you come out of the holidays with gifts that you’re not sure you’ll ever use, including gift cards to places you try to avoid. We’ve all been Ralphie from A Christmas Story, undoubtedly disappointed by our pink bunny suit gifts.

Luckily, Stinkweeeds record store in Phoenix is allowing people to exchange their gift cards from Target, Wal-Mart and Best Buy (only these retailers) for store credit at face value.

“How can they do that?” you ask… well, we will take your gift cards over to our big box competitors throughout the year and use them for things like toilet paper! It’s that easy! And you can feel good about pulling your cash out of the corporate music section and putting it squarely into the toilet paper section!”

Let’s recap:

1. You bring your unwanted gift card from Target, Wal-Mart or Best Buy to the front counter at Stinkweeds through Sunday, Jan. 6. (The amount on the card must be verifiable, via phone or Internet, so make sure there is a number or website on the card.)

2. Shop for what you want at the record store.

3. Use your store credit to check out.

Three cheers for getting what you want without shooting your eye out.

Don’t forget The Spec is giving one lucky reader three gift cards (that you won’t want to exchange) to Musical Instrument Museum, Stinkweeds and Crescent Ballroom. Enter HERE through Dec. 31.
