School of Rock is a well-known music education program with more than 150 schools worldwide, including locations in Arizona. This year’s AllStars Summer Tour will feature students from School of Rock Ahwatukee, Gibert and Scottsdale. The students participated in a competitive, international audition that selected the top one percent. SoR participants will perform around the country as part of the 22-date tour.
Along the way, the aspiring artists will get a glimpse of what it’s like to work as touring musicians, rocking iconic stages, such as Lollapalooza in Chicago and Gathering of Vibes. This is an opportunity for students to see where their hard work, dedication and spirit can take them. Some former AllStars have moved on to share the stage with Portugal. the Man, Slash from Guns n’ Roses, and many other notable musicians.
“’School of Rock provides such fantastic and unique opportunities to our students by getting them up on big stages and helping them to experience what it’s like to be a rock star first hand,’” said Megan Baskerville, School of Rock franchisee, in a press release. “’This tour not only highlights our kids’ talents, but also illustrates how strong the School of Rock community is nationwide.’”
The AllStars program launched in 2006 with a mission to inspire youth to “rock on stage and in life.” In addition to helping young musicians, School of Rock is supporting to the Who Cares Teen Cancer America charity, which focuses it efforts on helping young people stricken with cancer. This partnership allows young people to help other young people.
