Another music festival is poised to put Phoenix on the music industry’s map. School d’AZ (pronounced “school days”) is the newest music festival to be announced in the Valley. Organized by the people behind the Phoenix radio station ALT AZ 93.3 (KDKB-FM), the event is scheduled to debut on Oct. 24 at Mesa Amphitheatre. The “bands you need to know this fall” lineup includes and Best Coast, The Maine, Atlas Genius, New Politics, MSMR, Saint Motel and Bully. The event is all ages and general admission tickets are on sale now (presale: $25, advance: $35, $40 day of).

“Our promotion director hung up an action shot of her seven-year-old daughter rocking out on a guitar and singing,” said ALT AZ program director Mike Tierney in a press release. “The passion and energy in that image got us brainstorming ways to make it into a visual for the station. Somebody suggested curating a festival lineup of fresh-faced up-and-coming artists, and using that photo in the graphics. School d’AZ was born.”

Purchase tickets online here. For more information, tune into the radio station or visit the website. Be sure to check out video interviews with bands on the lineup.
