From Newbury Park, Califournia (as they like to call it) comes The Neighbourhood. If the name sounds familiar, you have probably heard it from the radio where the band’s double-platinum song, “Sweater Weather,” is on heavy rotation. Last week, the rockers shared a  new single “Jealou$y” off their forthcoming mixtape, #000000 & #FFFFFF.

The new track, which includes features by Casey Veggies and 100s, is the fourth single from the upcoming release and it will put you on your toes. If there’s one thing you can expect from The NBHD, it’s that you never know what to expect from The NBHD. The band offers a lot of musical diversity when it comes to its tracks. “Sweater Weather” has a pop feel and the single that followed, “Afraid,” was a perfect mix of hip-hop and indie rock.

The Neighbourhood releases new single off #000000 & #FFFFFF mixtape, #000000 & #FFFFFF, Jealou$y, The Neighbourhood releases Jealou$y“Jealou$y” takes the listener in a completely different direction. The track includes verses delivered by Veggies and 100s and if that’s not enough, lead vocalist Jesse Rutherford will draw you in with his compelling voice and rapping as well. The new track has a little bit of something for everyone and did I mention there is a killer saxophone break?

The #000000 & #FFFFFF mixtape, which will feature appearances by up-and-coming rap stars, will debut later this year. #000000 & #FFFFFF is a diary of songs that are inspired by our thoughts while on the road. It exposes our anxiety, rejoices in our achievement and expresses our ability to create whatever the fuck we want,” says Rutherford about the new project. “It’s our freedom to explore popular music as we know it. It’s not us as a band… it’s us as a sound.”

Listen to the new single below and tell us what you think in the comments. Are you excited about the change up? The NBHD is currently on tour and will perform at The Marquee Theatre in Tempe on July 21. Tickets are still available through Lucky Man Concerts or keep an eye on The Spec in the coming weeks, if giveaways are more of your thing.
