Toronto indie rock band Language-Arts is set to release its U.S. debut full-length, Able Island, on Oct. 9. The album was recorded last year in what the band calls a “floating studio” that consisted of basements, hotel rooms, alleyways and the back of a van, while touring across Canada. The trio used homemade microphones and reverb chambers made out of soup pots.

The album was then passed along to Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case/The Sadies) to mix and Peter Moore (Neil Young/Joni Mitchell) to master.

Language-Arts has premiered the album’s first single, “Neighbour.” Listen to the track below and tell us what you think in the comments.
