Mix: Songs We Love Right Now, Vol. IV

Songs We Love Right Now” is a mix dedicated to tunes that are stuck on repeat (in our heads and music players)…

Listen to our recent favorites below…

Artist: Alt J | Song: Fitzpleasure
Used these guys on my last mix, still digging them…

Artist: Grace Potter & The Nocturnals | Song: Parachute Heart
Saw Grace in Denver last week and we renewed our vows.

Artist: The Organ | Song: Brother
An oldie but goodie.

Artist: Asaf Avidan and The Mojos | Song: Your Anchor
Thanks to Dee for turning me on to Mr. Avidan.

Artist: Daughter | Song: Youth
I listened to this band a lot a couple months ago, forgot about them, then was happily reminded when one of their songs appeared in the background on the my friend’s TV.

Artist: Bombay Bicycle Club | Song: Lights Out, Words Gone
I know BBC was featured on my last mix, but I seriously cannot get enough of this band. My infatuation with “Shuffle” has shifted to “Lights Out, Words Gone” and honestly, I have no complaints.

Artist: Total Slacker | Song: Psychic Mesa
Recently introduced to this Brooklyn band by my friend Cal. I’m into it.

Artist: Solange Knowles | Song: Losing You
Glad to see Solange doing her thing.

Artist: Grouplove | Song: Colours
It’s bittersweet that Grouplove‘s November show at Crescent Ballroom is sold out and I am without a ticket.

Artist: RACES | Song: Big Broom
There’s a sexiness to this song that I can’t get over. Can’t wait to see the band live next month.

Artist: Mulatu Astatke | Song: Yègellé Tezeta
Great Ethiopian jazz. Simple and true.

Artist: John Lennon | Song: Watching the Wheels
I feel like acoustic John Lennon welcomes autumn like crisp mornings, and falling leaves.

Artist: Frightened Rabbit | Song: Nothing Like You
My sister gave this album to be a while back. I love the line, “This is a story and you’re not in it. Uh, huh!”

Artist: Nirvana | Song: Clean Up Before She Comes
I made a birthday mixed tape for a friend recently and this made it on it. A great bit of home recording.

Artist: Mumford & Sons | Song: Home (Holland Road)
I like the imagery in this song. They are great live if you ever have the chance to see them.
