Many who live in Arizona are aware of the musical talent cropping up around the Valley, and the numerous publications and organizations doing their best to support this growth. Some locals have garnered a national audience, but plenty more have not seen that success (yet) and are still blowing minds.
Mill Ave Chamber Players is doing its part to help develop the local scene by offering an opportunity for Phoenix musicians and audiences to come together. Through April 15, artists can apply to be a part of the Community Supported Musicseries.
What does this entail? Musicians with a produced CD can apply to distribute as many as 100 copies of their album and perform at the 2014-2015 series for CSM shareholders. Only six applicants will be chosen for the series. Beginning April 30, shareholders can pay just $60 to receive six CDs from local acts, and attend six concerts in which they can met the artists and receive the CDs. It’s a win-win situation.
