What I Learned at Bandcamp: The Muscadettes

Twin sister duo The Muscadettes is set to release its second EP of 2015, Side B, on Nov. 6. The twins, Chantal and Kathleen Ambridge, were born in California but raised in Montreal and that upbringing comes through in the group’s surf- and grunge-influenced music.

The album can currently be preordered on Bandcamp for $5.

How long have you been making music?
About three years.

Who/what are your influences?
’60’s surf and ’90’s rock- from The Ramones to The Breeders.

What is your favorite song you’ve released and why?
Pearl and Oyster” it’s fun to play live.

Upcoming projects, where do you want to go from here?
We’re currently demoing new songs.

If you could no longer be a musician, what would you be or do for a living?
I would be a beach bum.

What musicians or bands do you look up to?
Pj Harvey, The Beatles, Patti Smith, etc., etc…

Why do you make music?
‘Cause if I didn’t, I’d probably go insane.
