Read The Spec‘s interview with the Illinois-based group and listen to some tunes, below…

Who or what are your influences?
Pushing forward with sound/songs/ideas, being unique and progressive – the Onion AV Club just had a feature on how The Dandy Warhols “…kick started the 2000’s rock revival.” I’d say everything that isn’t that…not as much the band, they can do what they want, but the PR (there is a Chicago record label behind the article) and the ideas it embeds in people, especially non-musician fans of music. And as for other bands – The Beach Boys, Primal Scream, Sly Stone, Loop, many others but those are the most well known…

How did you come up with your name?
How you feel while in pursuit of something new and unknown, like the explorers on the ship to what has become this country. They would’ve never imagined…

Upcoming project, where do you want to go from here?
No idea besides making music, the aforementioned feeling is addictive…

What are your favorite songs off the new album?
Ah I dunno, sorry to be boring but all of them…

What inspires your music?
I just feel there’s a lot more that needs to be explored within all types music, that has nothing to do with technology and all to do with contemporary creativity and actual, fully whole human performances…

What musicians or bands do you look up to?
Look up to? I’m inspired by bands/artists that you can look directly AT…

Why do you make music?
It’s the only real magic…
