What I Learned at Bandcamp: Quiet Company

Austin-based quintet Quiet Company has been making music together since 2005, but their breakout year came in 2010 when they played SXSW, released a 6-track EP titled Songs For Staying In, received radio play throughout Texas, and recorded a session for ACL Presents Satellite Sets.

The band teamed with Grooveshark and Rocket Science to release their new album, We Are Where All We Belong, which is available for $5 on Bandcamp. The album chronicles the emotions one experiences after a break up– “sadness, resentment, self-doubt, but ultimately hope and the indescribable joy and freedom that comes from the realization of making the right decision.”

Quiet Company has played more than 400 shows since 2007, including a performance in front of 10,000 at the Blues On The Green festival in Austin.

Currently, the group is gearing up to play SXSW 2012, where they are set to perform nine shows in 10 days.

According to their website, “from the band’s inception through their rapid growth, the goal has never changed: To write intelligent, epic pop music that shines with honesty and provokes self-reflection.”
