What I Learned at Bandcamp: Ever Ending Kicks

Paul Adam Benson makes mellow pop tunes under the name Ever Ending Kicks. It seems fitting that it started to rain as I began to write this; rain makes me feel reflective and his music seems to do the same.

Ever Ending Kicks began in 2007 as a project originally calledĀ Motorbikes. Benson has since changed the band name to EEKĀ because he felt it better described his outlook. According to Facebook, “like how skate shoes get torn through and cool things become irrelevant. This idea is one of momentum. When pursued, the advancement is so small and consistent that you don’t see the decline and replacement, but a beautiful gradient fade that transcends eras and coolness. It is a constant transition to improvement, exposing new color slowly but continuously. It is a chart of perceptive growth, and a portrait of learning.”

EEK’s first album, Notion Free, can be streamed and purchased on Bandcamp. If you like what you hear, catch the band live at Crescent Ballroom on Monday, Oct. 1, performing with Mount Eerie and Bouquet.
