What I Learned at Bandcamp: Each Other

Each Other, Bandcamp, Interview

Canadian trio Each Other has been making music since 2011 and will release its debut full length, Being Elastic, on March 4. The album was recorded to tape in the band’s home-built studio in Montreal.

Send Your Signals” is currently streaming on Bandcamp and is a fast-paced track with indie-pop vocals that leave me anticipating the 11 remaining songs.

The Spec interviewed Each Other, read what the band had to say below…

Tell us a little about yourselves.
We come from the east coast of Canada, where the swimming is good in the summertime. Now, in lower Canada, we’re sorting out the second bit of our youth in part with a band called Each Other. Christian is the rhythm, where Mike and Brad do lows and leads.

How long have you been making music?
Collectively, just shy of 40 years. But only like this for about 30 months.

Who/what are your influences?
Neighbors mostly, and in a few senses to be sure. But sometimes what we come up with has to do with what it would be like if there was a really big flood.

What is your favorite song you’ve released and why?
I would say that I feel 100 percent satisfied about all of them because they are finished.

Upcoming projects, where do you want to go from here?
Not far, we haven’t been here very long.

What inspires your music?
Abstraction?

What musicians or bands do you look up to?
Gashrat and Grass Widow.

Why do you make music?
Probably because our friends do.

Anything else you’d like readers to know that we haven’t asked you about?
Don’t worry about the future.
