The Archives: September
Once a month, The Spec editors will compile a list of articles published on The Spec in years past. The Archives is an opportunity for SPECtators, both old and new, to explore content that may have gone under the radar.
Check out some of our favorites from the past…
“Review: Temples, Wampire, Fever the Ghost,” originally published September 30, 2014
This was one of those shows where the audience was timid at first, but the bands didn’t let the quietness keep them from owning their sets. If you haven’t listened to Temples, why the delay? I hope the band comes through again because the kind of mesmerizin, psychedelic show they put on is a rarity.
“Finding Success in the Music Industry via Skillshare,” originally published September 9, 2013
Skillshare is still alive and kicking, and so are the classes mentioned in this old post. There are also other music-themed courses available. Anyone who likes the idea of learning new things and gaining skills (in a variety of areas) should check out the site — there is a little something for everyone.
“What I Learned at Bandcamp: Absofacto,” originally published September 29, 2011
Absofacto is an artist I had the pleasure of interviewing and to this day, I revisit the mp3s from this post.
“Video: Los Dias de la Crescent Recap,” originally published September 28, 2012
This festival is a great showcase of local talent and it’s coming up again on Sept. 26. Watch this video for a great visual display of what you can expect.
