The Archives: June
Once a month, The Spec editors will compile a list of articles published on The Spec in years past. The Archives is an opportunity for SPECtators, both old and new, to explore content that may have gone under the radar.

“Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe to Fans: ‘Be Carefully’,” originally published June 3, 2013
I’ve never been a fan of Lamb of God’s music, but I felt compelled to share the message that Randy Blythe made to fans a couple years ago. It was powerful and relevant and unfortunately came after the death of a young fan at a Lamb of God concert. This death was one that Blythe would be charged for, but the court acquitted the manslaughter chargers. That didn’t bring back the deceased 19-year-old fan Daniel Nosek. It is important that people make safety a priority at shows, especially rowdy ones that involve a mosh pit.
“What I Learned at Bandcamp: Luna Aura,” originally published June 12, 2014
Luna Aura is one of the most interesting acts to emerge from the Phoenix music scene in recent years. If she’s not on your radar yet, perhaps you need to recalibrate. This lady has a style and tenacity that is hard to miss. I look forward to seeing where her music career takes her.
