Ontario‘s The Elwinsformed in 2008 when band members Matthew Sweeney and Travis Stokl bonded in a high school hallway over The Flaming Lips and began to write songs together. “So Down Low” is the first single off the band’s album Play For Keeps, released earlier this year. The stop motion video features thousands of Post-It notes set to the music.
Los Angeles three piece Kid Cadaver is set to release its sophomore EP, Roam, on Aug. 21 as a free, digital download. The band performs hook-driven pop and has become a staple at L.A. clubs like The Echo, The Satellite and The Roxy, over the last two years.
Aaron Taosalmost exclusively listens to hip-hop and cites Young Thug and ASAP Rocky as influences. However, instead of the hip-hop route, he makes catchy indie rock. The Brooklyn musician’s first album, GUITS, is due out Sept. 19.
