Landfill Harmonic: The Recycled Orchestra

Landfill Harmonic, Recycled Orchestra, landfill, garbage, Paraguay

The Landfill Harmonic documentary follows children of a Paraguayan slum as they transform garbage from around the city into musical instruments. Production on the film began in 2010 and has followed the progress of the children and their Recycled Orchestra ever since.

From March to May of 2013, a Kickstarter campaign gained nearly 5,000 backers and raised $214,219 to fund film production and a Recycled Orchestra world tour.

On Saturday, Aug. 10, The Recycled Orchestra will make a stop at the Musical Instrument Museum in Scottsdale. The 9-to-5 event features a workshop to make instruments from recycled materials, an instrument drive benefiting Ear Candy, a Paraguayan-inspired lunch menu and an opportunity to meet the orchestra.

  1. Ironically, and flying directly in the face of this superstitious
notion, witches were often condemned to death by the very
judges they could allegedly control. Such wicked associations were unfortunately passed on to witches at this time also, as it became the time of year when they were to be seen on their way to meetings with other evil beings.
The natural process of nature is to destroy so it can recreate.
