Kieran Leonard‘s musical journey began as a 13-year-old boy who was forced to watch a David Bowie retrospective on television by his mother. After that, he wrote 100 songs in six months.
On June 29, single “Underwood Milk” was released digitally and on Beer Mat as part of Fierce Panda‘s reborn singles club. The single and acompaning video are a flashback to the ’90’s grunge movement. Leonard even channels Kurt Cobain in the opening seconds of the video, with his dirty blonde hair and flamboyant glasses.
Kieran Leonard is much more than the music though. In 2012, he started The Chance to Fail Foundation created to help young people develop an understanding of the relationship between music, literature and songwriting, as a tool for comment and social change.
Leonard’s sophomore album, Good Luck, Everybody, is due out later this year. In the meantime, watch the video for track “Underwood Milk” below…
