Ticket Giveaway: Wilco and Dr. Dog at Independence Festival

Wilco, Dr. Dog, ticket giveaway, 4th of July, Independence Festival

The 4th of July is right around the corner and Salt River Fields is the place to be if you love music and fireworks. The annual Independence Festival takes place July 3-4 and features big-name acts Wilco, Dr. Dog, Little Big Town and Brandy Clark. Both days will close with one of the Valley’s biggest fireworks shows.

The Spec, courtesy of Danny Zelisko Presents and Insight Mgt, is giving away two pairs of tickets to the July 3 show featuring Wilco and Dr. Dog.

WILCO
Alternative folk rockers Wilco formed in Chicago in 1994. The band has gone through multiple lineup changes, with singer Jeff Tweedy and bassist John Stirrat remaining consistent throughout. To date, the group has released eight studio albums and won two Grammy Awards, including “Best Alternative Music Album” for 2004’s
A Ghost Is Born.

DR. DOG
Toby Leaman and Scott McMicken started making music together in eighth grade, opting to write their own music instead of playing covers. The two added additional members and released their first album, Psychedelic Swamp, as Dr. Dog in 2001. Since then, the group has released seven more studio albums.

  1. That Old Black Hole by Dr. Dog was the major push to get me to delve into their music more so I guess it has a special place in my heart. I love them! And seriously, ALL their songs are good. How can that be??

  2. Clearly, I think Wilco is a leader in this dog race….so I’ll have to pick its song Impossible Germany as a top song. The musicianship displayed in this song is a wonder to behold…. Watch the song here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnWrZnbjft8
