Summer Ends Music Festival will feature live performances by The Replacements, Foster the People, Capital Cities, Descendents, Violent Femmes, Fitz & the Tantrums and more than 20 other popular acts. The inaugural three-day festival will take place September 26-28 at Tempe Beach Park.  Tickets are on sale now: three-day passes for $250 and single-day passes for $65.

Through September, The Spec will be publishing interviews with bands on the lineup and giving away tickets to the event.

Lindsey Stirling wears many artistic hats as a musician, composer, dancer and performance artist. The former America’s Got Talent quarter-finalist released her sophomore album, Shatter Me, in April. Stirling will perform on day one of Summer Ends Music Festival.

Song of yours you would recommend to someone just being introduce to your music? Probably “Crystallize.” That seems to be the one that everyone likes the most and gets people coming back for more.

Unexpected talent you or someone else in the band has? Brian (handles all the merchandise) has a double-jointed thumb and I have a double-jointed elbow….

Must-have thing while on tour or in the studio? Snacks, especially cereal!

Music award, honor, achievement or induction that you would be most excited to get? I would absolutely love to get a Grammy and have my album go “gold” in the USA.

Explain the moment you knew that you wanted to be a musician? I’ve wanted to be a musician since I was six years old, when I started begging my parents for lessons. I don’t think I realized then that it would ultimately become my career. I thought of music as more of a hobby…a way to express myself…which is why I’m so grateful to be able to do what I am doing. Basically I get to “play” and do what I love most and get paid to do it. #feelingblessed

Recent concert you attended as a fan and your favorite memory from it. Went to a Pink concert with my friend Eppic; SO much energy; kept me riveted the whole time.

Finish the following sentences:

Everyone thinks my music is relaxing and energizing at the same time, but I think it describes me.

Number one rule of being a musician or in a band is work hard and be nice!

Don’t ever underestimate the power of positive thinking.

Summer Ends Music Fest will be amazing; can’t wait to perform for you guys!
