All right, the first trial of The Beat Experiment has come to an end. I’d like to thank everyone for their submissions. I received a lot of great music with a variety of concepts. Unfortunately only one can come out on top. The winner is… David Russell, D. Russ, with his “D.I.Y.“ track. I like Russ’ style and delivery. Overall, the track is clean and well put together. http://k003.kiwi6.com/hotlink/9658o4g7ui/d_i_y.mp3Artist: D. Russ | Song: D.I.Y. It was a close race. Our runner-up is Aneesh. Russ, and thank you to everyone who participated....

The Spec proudly introduces The Beat Experiment, a project designed to challenge artists to step out of their musical comfort zones. During the first week of every month, beginning in November, a “beat” produced by Cordale Wallace, Its PC Beatz, will be posted on The Spec. Artist will have 20 days, from the original post date, to experiment. This is a call for all musical creatives — bands, singers, rappers, DJs, producers, and others. There are no limitations. The ultimate goal is to break down genre barriers and redefine what music is, and can be. Its PC Beatz will select his favorite submissions and announce one winner  on the 27th of every month. The winning experimentalist will be rewarded the exclusive rights to the beat, as well as a feature on The Spec. Treat this as an experiment: TEST...
